East Tennessee -The US Tax and Trade Bureau recently named an new American Viticultural Area, which includes parts of Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee, and includes one of Great Valley Wine Trail’s members, Ville Nove Vineyards.

Three USDA grants awarded to East Tennessee wine industry for expansion and growth.

East Tennessee -The US Department of Agriculture announced recently the awarding of three grants to the Appalachian Region Wine Producers Association (the non-profit organization that runs the Great Valley Wine Trail). These grant will help us put Tennessee on the wine lover’s map.

Thunder Road Vintners Strike Gold in Wines of the South Regional Wine Competition

East Tennessee – Taking home a total of 30 awards, four wine makers and members of East Tennessee’s Thunder Road Wine Trail earned high honors in the 2015 Wines of the South Regional Wine Competition, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Knoxville’s Food Science Technology Department. Winners were announced Thurs., Oct. 29, on the competition’s website.

New Wine Trail in East Tennessee
Thunder Road Wine Trail Offers Wild, Sophisticated Ride

Thunder Road Wine Trail, opening Sept. 1, 2015, follows the old Thunder Road and Copperhead Road moonshine smuggling routes, winding 140 miles from Knoxville to Butler, Tennessee.  It includes six wineries and more than 60 different wines.  Most wineries have been open for less than three years, and two are brand new in East Tennessee.
